5.5.6 Manage Custom Property Control

 

The Manage Custom Property Control tab enables one of the Advanced Properties (see Section 5.2 for more information on Advanced Properties) to be set as a specific control property which can then be used to control Check Out of associated Items.


For instance if you have an Advanced Property set as Region with Europe, Asia and United States below this. If you were to associate a Person to Region / Europe then that Person would only be able to Check Out Items that had Region / Europe. By using this functionality better security with regards to revising and updating Items can be achieved. An additional function of this feature is that when the Person adds new Items the Region / Europe would be automatically selected.


In addition if multiple Advanced Properties were selected, such as Region / Europe and Asia, for the person then they would have the ability to Check Out Items from both Europe and Asia.


To manage User Suite Connection:

    1. Navigate to the System Tab
    2. Click the System Settings icon (warning message is displayed)

    1. Click Custom Property Control tab

    1. Select an Advanced Property from the drop down list (note that you can select No Control Property which is the default setting which will not apply an Advanced Property)
    2. Click Save if you wish to make further amendments to the System Settings or click Save and Close if you do not wish to make further amendments to the System Settings.
